The discography says:
“1945 Mon 12th February
Recording for Dr. Frederick B.Exner at C.P. MacGregor Studios, Hollywood, Los Angeles”

Four numbers resulted, and Kid Ory, who had assembled a band for the Mercury Radio show about a year earlier, used his regular group this time with Joe Darensbourg on clarinet. (In their first studio recording the year before he was substituted by Omer Simeon.) In this tune that was a test for clarinet players, he is close to the microphone and manages very well to defend his place in the band.

The others are Mutt Carey, trumpet; Buster Wilson, piano; Bud Scott, guitar; Ed Garland, bass; and Alton Redd on drums. A great group!

According to Darensbourg, the records were never well distributed at the time, and Ory himself did not know what to do with them; he sold them to stores that never paid him. But the band was well on its way to artistic and commercial success.
