Dyin’ with the Blues

LP Swaggie S1284

Three players represents the hot trumpets recording in Chicago during the late 1920’s: Jabbo Smith, Punch Miller and the least well-known George Dixon who plays here. But on this LP we also get a lot of very good agile saxophone and clarinet playing in this number performed by George James. Other important persons are Alex Hill, piano and arrangements and banjo player Ikey Robinson. And behind the drums we hear no-one less than Sid Catlett.
