Nobody’s Sweetheart

Here is a jam on tune that seems to have been there always. Still, I don’t play it very often. It was one of the first that I learned, and I think that I have a recording somewhere from my first meeting with two guys that I came to play a lot with. It happened in a cellar, and I was about sixteen years of age. I played the cornet, another one the clarinet, and then with a banjo player friend we became a popular trio. Popular in the sense that many people asked us to come and play at their private parties.

I think that the first inspiration to play this particular tune came from McKinney’s Cotton Pickers and the Austin High School Gang in equal portions.
