You’re Getting to Be a Habit With Me
78 rpm Columbia DB 1901

Five things that I enjoy with this.
One: That it’s a 78 rpm record. Now you hear it through your computer or telephone, but here in my living room with my equipment, the presence of the recording is incomparable.
Two: The record is in very good condition with no distracting surface noise.
Three: Like so many others, I love the voice of Bing Crosby, and he was never in better shape than in the beginning of the thirties.
Four: I’m a fan of Guy Lombardo’s orchestra with their specialties of mutes trumpet and tight saxophone section and with better dynamics than most dance bands at the time. This was in January 1933, and Decca had an excellent idea to combine two of their most selling names.
Five: The film 42nd Street with music by Harry Warren is one of my favorite, and this tune is extraordinary with the construction of melody, chords, and lyrics.
Yes, I’m one of the happy few that still can enjoy all this!
